Website Analysis - Mumford and Sons

The band is represented in the image that we see which includes the entire band as the main focus of the image. The image that we see them in is actually the cover from their recent album, which not only promotes them as a band but also their album.

The band are known for their country/rock music and so the setting and what they are wearing, links in with their genre. The location is quite old fashioned and dated, which is something that we associate with that particular genre.

It uses technology to promote themselves because just under the promotion for the album, there is a button which has a mini 'tweet' button. There are also links that allow you to go further into the site, and there is also buttons to press that allows you to either download the song on iTunes, or order the CD, even a vinyl.

This is the home page for the band, after clicking on the button that is there to promote  the band this is the site you are next directed to.

The generic conventions of the music is used as the band have no images of themselves just information about the tour, and everything that is happening whilst they are on tour.

The colour and style is very simplistic, there is nothing in that is over emphasized, no really bold colours. The colours that are used are environmental/earthy colours which is generic convention of country music.

The overall colour and the style of the site portrays the band about not being so much about the image and more about the music.

With the written content, the information that is given to us is about the tour, about products of the band that you can buy, also there's like a blog of recipes that the band have uploaded.

The layout and the font construct the band's image by making them appear relaxed, everyday band, win which are just about the music that  the produce.

The techniques that are used to target the audience is by having information about the tour that they are on, by having a little tab in the top left hand corner that the audience can press and listen to the songs that the band has produced.

The advertisements that are used to target their audience is suitable because, everything that we see is what we would expect from the band.
